Closures because of Staffing Shortages

Although the recruitment freeze was lifted in April 2023, there are still staff shortages in the Library Service - in common with most of the Council. This means that if people are ill, it is often difficult to cover their absence. In most cases, the decision not to open a particular library, or to close it for the afternoon or over lunchtime, will only be taken after all alternatives have been exhausted, and this means that it will probably be at short notice.
